One health concern for many people is catching a cold or getting the flu. There are several steps to take that can help prevent or lessen the chances of catching them.

  • The best way to protect against getting the flue is to have a yearly flu shot.
  • Make sure to wash your hands often. Take at least 20 sec to wash your hands using soap and running water. Make sure to keep your hands away from your nose, eyes, and mouth.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand rub.
  • Use a tissue when you sneeze , cough or blow your nose.
  • Try not to touch people or their things when they have a cols or the flu. Keep your distance.
  • Get regular exercise. Eat well. Get plenty of rest.
  • Make sure to follow your doctor's advice before taking vitamins, minerals, and other produxts that claim to prevent the flu or colds.
